First Fridays traditionally herald open house art shows, but November’s First Friday at the Anchorage Museum opened the house to the outdoors. KMTA was one of a handful of outdoor-aligned organizations participating in the Museum’s Wilderness Week kick-off. We showcased the category winners of our recent photo contest and invited a public vote on a People’s Choice award. A pile of ballots were tallied to select “Mt. Alice” by Janessa Anderson as the People’s Choice winner.
On their photo ballots, many people shared their favorite way to play in the KMTA, creating an inspirational, somewhat-eclectic, shared list. Staff heard about favorite ski routes from adventurers and thanks from past grantees.
Thank you to all who partnered in creating this packed public event.
