BACKCOUNTRY FILM FESTIVAL
Come Celebrate the Wild World of Winter
The Backcountry Film Festival (BCFF), presented by the Winter Wildlands Alliance, celebrates human-powered, backcountry-inspired stories rooted in wild snowscapes, stewardship and stoke.
As your proud local SnowSchool provider, we are thrilled to bring the BCFF to Girdwood this year in partnership with Our Winter World and Alyeska Resort.
The 19th Annual Backcountry Film Festival includes documentaries and ski movies about athletic pursuit in the mountains, artistic vision, friendship, and how the snowsports community is adapting to a changing environment.
Check out the film lineup here or at the bottom of the page.

Our nonprofit works in and on behalf of the congressionally-designated Kenai Mountains-Turnagain Arm National Heritage Area. We provide education programs like SnowSchool, recreation events, and work with communities on grassroots projects that include art, heritage preservation, trail maintenance, and much more. The Backcountry Film Festival will help support our SnowSchool program so that we can continue providing kids with engaging learning and recreational opportunities in Alaska’s longest season.
Come share the stoke with us, celebrate the connections between humans and wild winters, and support winter outdoor education for local youth!
